Analysis for HEIDENHAIN Encoders

HEIDENHAIN encoders provide all information necessary for commissioning, monitoring and diagnostics. PWM inspection devices and PWT testing devices are available specifically for analyzing the encoders. Testing devices are used for checking the function of encoders. The PWTs have fewer functions than the PWMs, much higher measuring tolerances and cannot be calibrated. There are two types of diagnostics, depending on how the devices are integrated:

PWT 100 | Testing device for HEIDENHAIN encoders

The PWT 100 is a testing device for checking the function and adjustment of incremental and absolute HEIDENHAIN encoders. Thanks to its compact dimensions and robust design, the PWT 100 is ideal for mobile use. A 4.3-inch touchscreen provides for display and operation.

The PWT 100 supports a variety of functions depending on the encoder or the interface. For encoders with EnDat interface, for example, besides displaying position values it enables you to read out the online diagnostics, shift datums and use further inspection functions.

Inspection and testing devices from HEIDENHAIN

HEIDENHAIN encoders are provided with all information necessary for commissioning, monitoring and diagnostics. HEIDENHAIN offers the appropriate PWM inspection devices and PWT testing devices for encoder analysis. The PWM inspection devices can be used universally. They have low measuring tolerances and can be calibrated. Testing devices, like the PWT 100, have a simpler performance range and significantly larger measuring tolerances. They cannot be calibrated.

Ordering Options

The PWT 100 can be ordered with or without a service case. Depending on the order, a wall adapter power supply is included in delivery. Please note: The power adapters may have limitations with respect to certain regional test standards. If required, please refer to your contact person at HEIDENHAIN.

Available Functions

The performance range of the PWT 100 can be expanded by firmware update. Appropriate firmware files that can be imported to the PWT100 through a memory card (not included in delivery) will be made available online. The functions described below apply to software version 1.0.0. This software version does not yet support all planned interfaces, functions and dialog languages.

Mounting Wizard

The PWM 20 is recommended as a mounting tool for adjusting HEIDENHAIN encoders (e.g. LIP 2xx, ERO 2xxx, ERP 1xxx) that require a special mounting wizard. As far as the adjustment of encoders is concerned, the PWT 100 can only be used for online diagnostics.
