Metronix EtherCAT Servo Drive: ARS 2000 SE Series (ARS 2300 SE)

The ARS 2000 servo drive with the EtherCAT technology module supports the CoE protocol (CANopen over EtherCAT) with the aid of FPGA ESC20. The CANopen communication objects are tunneled via the EtherCAT telegram. This means that the individual objects that are addressed via the CoE protocol in the ARS 2000 servo drive are transferred internally to the existing CANopen implementation where they are processed.

The ARS 2000 servo drive with the EtherCAT technology module supports the CoE protocol (CANopen over EtherCAT) with the aid of FPGA ESC20.

  • EtherCAT according to IEEE-802.3u (100Base-TX) with 100 Mbps (full-duplex)

  • Star and line topology

  • Connector: RJ45

  • Potential-free EtherCAT interface

  • Communication cycle: < 1 ms

  • Cyclic (PDO communication) and acyclic data transmission (SDO communication)

  • Support of the “Distributed Clocks” feature for the time-synchronized setpoint take-over acc. to with IEEE 1588

  • LEDs for indicating the operational readiness and link-detect

ARS 2000 SE: Servo drive for control cabinets - Standard Edition

The servo drives of the ARS 2000 SE product family are characterised by the typical Metronix product features, which are highly valued in the market. These include:

  • The extremely compact design with integrated line and motor filters

  • The overload capacity of up 4 times of the rated current

  • The integrated and certified STO that meets the requirements of Category 4 / PL e according to EN ISO 13849-1 and SIL CL according to EN 62061

  • The excellent price-performance ratio

Additional enhancements are:

  • Control and configuration of the servo drive via the integrated Ethernet or USB interface

  • Parameterisation of the servo drive via SD card that allows a fast drive commissioning without parameterization tool in series applications or service cases.

With integrated EMC filters additional investment costs for external EMC filters and additional installation costs for wiring can be avoided.

The integrated, multi-function encoder interface supports a wide range of available encoder systems.

With these product characteristics, the typical Metronix ready-to-use feature is also maintained in the ARS 2000 SE product family.

ARS 2300 SE - designed for functional safety
