MotiCont: Thirteen Micron Optical Encoder (OEM-500)

OEM-500 is a transmissive device and is designed to detect linear position when used together with a linear strip. This Optical Encoder Module consists of an LED source and a monolithic detector IC enclosed in a small polymer package; it uses phased array detector technology to provide superior performance and greater tolerances over traditional aperture mask type encoders. The encoder also provides digital quadrature outputs. Power is supplied from a single +5 VDC source.
