Glentek: Analog Amplifier

Glentek offers the latest in high performance Analog PWM (Pulse Width Modulated) Servo Amplifiers for the control of both DC brush servo motors and voice coil motors. With extensive utilization of surface mount technology and special heat transfer techniques, Glentek’s SMA7110, SMA7115, SMA7130, SMA71075 and SMA71100 series amplifiers offer one of the world’s most powerful products for a given form factor. All models can operate in current (torque) or velocity (RPM) mode and accept a +/-10V analog input as a command reference. All models can close the velocity loop via feedback of a DC tachometer. In addition, models SMA7130, SMA71075 and SMA71100 can close the velocity loop via feedback of an incremental encoder. They provide a range of continuous currents from 6 amps to 100 amps and peak currents from 12 amps to 150 amps. Operating voltages range from 30-220 VDC for Module configurations or 110-130 VAC for Stand Alone and Multi-Axis configurations. For a complete description of the mounting configurations offered, please refer to the “Mounting Configurations Section”.

Note: Not all mounting configurations are available for each model.
To determine which mounting configurations are available for each model, please refer to the “Electrical Ratings and Available Mounting Configurations Section”.

Features & Options:

  • Ergonomic design: Easy access to connections, adjustments and test points.

  • SMT construction: Provides ultra compact size, cost competitive package and high reliability.

  • Silent operation: 20 kHz PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) standard.

  • Complete isolation: Complete optical isolation between signal and power stage.

  • Multimode operation: All models can operate in current (torque) or velocity (RPM) mode and accept a +/-10V analog input as a command reference.

  • Wide operating voltage: 30-220 VDC for Amplifier module versions. All stand-alone and multi-axis versions can be ordered for operation from 110-130 VAC (single or 3-phase, 50/60 Hz).

  • Direct AC operation: No transformer required for stand-alone units or multi-axis chassis. The stand-alone units and multi-axis chassis include DC bus power supply, regen clamp and dumping resistor, in-rush current limiting protection at power-on and cooling fans.

  • Fault protection: Short from output to output, short from output to ground, amplifier RMS over current, amplifier over voltage and amplifier over temperature.

  • Industry std. mounting: Available in Module, Stand Alone or Multi-Axis configurations. Optional custom mounting configurations are available to meet virtually any requirement.

  • LED status indicators: A green LED illuminates to display normal operating conditions while red LED’s illuminate or flash to indicate various faults.

  • Dedicated inputs: +/- limits, inhibit, fault and reset.

  • External fault reset: An input is provided to reset the amplifier in the event of a fault.

  • Current limit: Peak motor current is adjustable.

  • Frequency response: All servo amplifiers have a nominal 2000 Hertz current loop bandwidth which varies with the motor inductance. Higher bandwidths are available upon request.

  • CE compliant: All servo amplifiers are CE marked.
