Phytron: Stepper Motors (VSS UHVC Series) Cryo

Precision that moves.

Stepper motors are synchronous motors. The rotor follows an electrically charged magnetic field. The stepper motor uses a closed loop control system as opposed to the servomotor. This means that position and the number of revolutions are known even without sensor technology by principle. In addition, stepper motors are highly reliable and long-lasting due to their precision and economical construction, even in extreme environments.

Technical Details

  • Two-phase stepper motors for applications in ultra high vacuum (Cryo) up to 10-11 mbar

  • Suitable for low temperatures: He (-269 °C) or N2 (-196 °C)

  • Radiation resistance up to 106 J/kg

  • Stainless steel housing

  • Holding torques from 3.4 mNm to 9.9 Nm

  • Full steps per rotation: 500 (0,72°), 200 (1,8°), 72 (5°)

  • Protection class IP 00 because of outgassing holes to avoid pockets of trapped gas

  • Titanium housing - Space - Reduced magnetic emission
